They must be freezing in the Chicago area right now. With current temperatures below -20º F – and even lower in the next few days - I wouldn't dare set a foot outside home!

So, where do I get all this information from? Easy: download Weather Spy and you'll have your own personal weather forecast right on the Windows desktop. You'll be able to check weather conditions in thousands of locations worldwide, including temperature, rain probability and wind speed. The program also features satellite imagery with which you can see clouds over the US or Europe, as well as check temperatures and precipitation probabilities. Only one location can be checked at a time, though.

Weather Spy includes a fairly complete configuration menu where you can choose measurement units, apply a transparency effect to the program's window and tweak other settings. It would have been great to have some interface skins too, as the wooden appearance doesn't really fit the program.

Weather Spy is a small tool that gives you the most current weather predictions worldwide. It is small, simple and doesn't hog resources.

The latest weather data is loaded into the program - automatically when needed - from the Internet and displayed on the program's interface. You can have the current weather or an up to 10-day forecast. In addition to the weather there are also high and low temperature, precipitation probability and wind strength. The program also includes satellite images of rain, clouds, temperature, and other configurable image data. When minimized, it hides in the task bar and shows a small icon with the current weather info.
